Dual Survival Update

oman feetDear Campers,

Unfortunately, I have been fired by Discovery Channel for differences over safety and health concerns on the show and will no longer be a part of Dual Survival.

Although I’ll miss elements of the show, what I’ll miss the most are my fans and the opportunity to teach – on a global level – life saving skills, indigenous culture, and values of integrity and respect toward our natural world.

I have received numerous letters from viewers. Many are from kids, or their parents or grandparents, describing in detail how the show has changed their lives. It has brought families together, inspired kids to go outdoors, and motivated moms and dads around the world to take that family camping trip, many for the first time. If I can use a TV show to encourage people to turn off TV and turn on nature, I have done my job.

Thank you all very much for your support over the years. Be safe and prepared, and maybe I’ll train with you in the woods some day!

Stay classy,

Cody Lundin

I know you are a man of principles and I respect that, however, you are the main reason my son and I watch Dual Survival. Your wit is always appreciated and you will be missed tremendously- if we decide to keep watching. Hopefully, Discovery Channel can come to a reasonable agreement and you can continue with the show. We wish you the best!

    Hello Cody,

Sorry to hear you will no longer be on the show. It’s too bad that the producers can’t see the dangers associated with the backcountry and a survival situation. You know best, we don’t see behind the scenes. I’m sure you will continue to get your message out and you’ll be back in the spotlight soon enough. You’re a great roll model and inspiration to many, keep up the great work. PS my girl friend’s favorite wilderness skills instructor is you, I came in second.

    Take care,
    Phil V

My wife and I are big fans and wish you all the best. As a survivalist, you adapt and overcome and I’m sure you have already done so. I have watched you, Dave, and Joe many times over and think that you conquered almost every situation imaginable. I think that future seasons would have become less and less interesting. I believe that your popularity will increase because of this, rather than dwindle. I am really looking forward for my wife and I to attend your school someday in the future. Best of luck to you in all that you do and thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with the rest of us. Please keep us updated on future ventures.

Hey Cody. I just want you to know that you are one incredible character with a lovely personality. After i watched Shipwrecked episode 5 weeks ago, my life has not been the same since. You made a huge impact on me with your lifestyle and your perspective on things! Discovery Channel made a big big mistake by letting you go, YOU are the reason why people watch Dual Survival my friend! I would love to come to Arizona and take your classes and experience you first hand. All the best of luck to you in the future, much love and respect from Denmark <3

Can we please pray that Discovery will reconsider? I agree with everyone else, Cody, start your own show. I have NEVER posted anything online anywhere, but I think Discovery just made a really BIG mistake. I, too, wish I could take survival skills training from you, but being in ill health and 60 years old, probably won’t be happening. However, I have learned so much from you. Even to the point that I think of you almost every day whenever I turn my water faucet on! Gotta save those resources, don’t we? Please let us know how you’re doing and what you’re doing.

Cody why don’t you simply start your own show, you know everyone who watched dual survival anyway liked it because you were in it… Dual survival is one if the only shows of this type and it is one of my favorite shows on television.
Just get a partner, someone like Joe for arguments sake, make a damn business plan, and get someone to invest for a percentage of the shows earnings.

You would simply do the exact same show in all different places, only on another network. Trust me when I say there will be a network that takes it in a heartbeat.

You would make much more money as well this way compared to your discovery contract.

    Good luck

I admire you standing on your survival principles. I would expect nothing less from you, sir. You will be missed for sure. Since you were the reason I watched Dual Survival, I won’t be watching the show any longer. Thank you for teaching us so much!

I have learned so much from you; not just about survival but about learning to be more self-sufficient and getting by with less. These are skills that our culture doesn’t practice anymore and I fear that future generations may “live to regret it”. I will watch for you sir.
    Respectfully, Dawn

I am deeply saddened to hear that you will no longer be a part of Dual Survival. I am an Army veteran and you would think that I would be partial to one of the other hosts because of that but you, sir have become a personal hero of mine. I am incredibly appreciative of all of your skill, knowledge and passion and you have inspired me more than almost anyone else on this earth. Thank you for everything you do and I look forward to seeing you on TV again. I also hope to be able to take one of your courses someday. Take care. You’re awesome.

Hi, Cody, I come from Germany and I saw all your episodes in TV. I`m so sad, that it does not go any further. I hope I see you as soon as possible on another channel. Best wishes Sylvia

“Dual Survival” is just one of the many great things you are part of. Your teachings and spirit transcend beyond any tv show, amigo. Keep up the great work – in any medium. You’re an inspiring dude.
