Enrollment for ALSS courses is extremely limited. We have always been "first come- first serve", therefore all ALSS enrollment applications are accepted by the earliest mailing postmark. In other words, if I receive more student applications than a course has room, students who enrolled first have priority. Payment options are below. Call our office at (928) 713-1651 or email us (email@example.com) if you have questions. We look forward to training with you!

What happens next ...Within three weeks of receiving your enrollment, we’ll send you a course packet containing a comprehensive gear list, course information, release forms and travel details. Unless your adventure states otherwise, you supply your own gear and food for the experience. Transportation is provided to and from the course site and parking is provided for your vehicle. Most courses begin at 8:30 a.m. and end 5:30 p.m. the last day of the course. Please note that NO smoking, drugs or alcohol are allowed on ALSS courses. Have questions?? Call us at (928) 713-1651.
Meeting location and travel: Most courses meet in Prescott, Arizona. Out of state and international students fly into Sky Harbor International airport in Phoenix, Arizona. Car rentals and shuttle services are available at the airport. We send you basic travel information regarding airport shuttles, Prescott hotels, and directions to our school in Prescott upon enrollment.
A note about “gear” for classes: The gear you’ll need for your adventure depends upon the course you choose. Even so, no ALSS class has a heavy emphasis upon modern gear. The gear required for most courses is extremely simple such as a backpack, sleeping bag or wool blanket, water bottles, knife, and extra clothing. Students who don’t have basic backpacking gear often rent supplies from a local outdoor store or borrow items from a friend. Because our courses are taught outdoors, and weather and climate factors are fickle, our gear lists remain flexible so we can edit them for safety and effectiveness. Static, one-size-fits-all gear lists featured on some web sites ignore the reality of a changing wilderness and the hundreds of variables that exist. If you’re worried about not having the right equipment, remember, the ALSS experience revolves around doing more with less, not buying expensive, seldom used specialty gear.
ALSS Cancellation and Refund Policy:
If YOU cancel a course...
To maintain the highest quality of hands-on instruction possible, each ALSS program enrolls a limited number of students. When you choose to enroll in one of these precious slots, and then cancel near the course run date, you prevent other potential students from enjoying the experience. Also, partially filled courses are not economical to run, and we are forced to scramble to try to fill your spot with limited notice. In addition, while “invisible” to the student, much time and money is spent preparing for you to attend a course. Our cancellation and refund policy reflect the fact that it’s impossible to recover these up front costs. Please note that there is a non-refundable $100 processing fee per course. This fee is included in the price of the course tuition and is NOT an extra fee. In addition to the processing fee:
- If you cancel 60 days or less prior to the course dates.....half tuition refund in addition to the $100 processing fee.
- If you cancel 30 days or less prior to the course dates.....no refund can be given. No exceptions.
-Students who leave a course once it has begun due to sickness, evacuation or any other reason, will NOT be entitled to a refund. No exceptions.
-Students who cancel a course may NOT apply the tuition to another course. No exceptions.
-Students who fail to show up on time and miss the course will NOT be entitled to a refund. No exceptions.
If WE cancel a course...
Most ALSS courses revolve around Cody as the lead instructor. If Cody gets sick, injured, or your course lacks enough students to run, we will need to cancel the course. For these reasons, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance from your airline or elsewhere. ALSS assumes no responsibility for any additional expenses incurred by you as a result of cancellation. If ALSS cancels a course, a full tuition refund will be given.
